Chapter Founder Passes
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our chapter's founder, William 'Bill' Ditman at the age of 89. A man of integrity, faith and love, was dedicated to the service of mankind. Through his love of small but great things, recognized a community in need of a service organization and through his persistent recruiting efforts, the SERTOMA Club of Watauga was formed. He was deeply focused on community and having the ability to help anyone in our community in need.
Through his vision, the Sertomans have served and helped thousands of students and families from BISD, Keller ISD and the City Of Watauga.
Bill Ditman will always be remembered for the desire to help others and missed by those who knew him.
His first program was Shoe's for Kids in which we provide vouchers to our local school nurses so that any student in need with new shoes can have them. Becuase of this, the Sertoma Club of Watuaga will rename the Program; Bill Ditman's Shoes for Kids in his honor.
