Fellow Sertoman Eloy Leal was honored as a Hometown Hero from the the Northeast Tarrant Chamber of Commerce.
On May 15, 2023, Eloy Leal was selected as a Northeast Tarrant Chamber Hometown Hero by the Sertoma Club of Watauga. Eloy has been an integral asset throughout the years he’s been a Sertoma member and has dedicated much of his time and resources into helping others. In fact, you may have seen this hero “flash” by you at a local run. Eloy has dressed up as the Flash on several occasions supporting citizens and kids of Watauga at local fun runs. If you haven’t seen him speed by, you may have seen his face on many benches and billboards around town promoting his State Farm business. He has also purchased and donated all the T-shirts for multiple events in Watauga and has provided all the golf balls for players in the Sertoma’s annual golf tournament for the last 5 years. During the Pandemic, Eloy helped buy and take lunches to the teachers of the 4 Schools in Watauga in order to show appreciation for their hard work and dedication to their students.
Eloy worked hard to secure partnerships with local Bingo halls in order receive donations and because of this, the club is consistently receiving funds.
His efforts with the Sertoma club has led our very small civic club to raise over 50K this year in order to give back to the community through scholarships, school programs and local families in need.
He has been past president and is a volunteer at nearly every event. He is a member of the Lion’s Club and runs a foundation for animals in need. Eloy’s servant heart is why we chose him for Sertoma’s Hometown Hero.
