Scholarships

The Hector F. Garcia Golf Tournament is in its 5th year. Each year we raise money for scholarships given to students who are going on to 2 year, 4 year or trade school after graduation. Hector Garcia was a former Mayor of Watauga and a Sertoman. He was passionate about education and was an avid supporter of our schools. In 2022, the Watauga Chapter of the Sertoma Club gave 8 scholarships to Watauga students who have gone on to successfully complete their first year of a 2 year, four year or trade school for a total of $8,000. This year we had our highest participation ever and were able to award every applicant that submitted.
